Michael Clarke Duncan

Raised by a single mother on the south side of Chicago. Wanted to play football, but decided to pursue acting instead at the urging of his mother. Worked as a ditch-digger for a gas company. Worked as personal security for such stars as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. Won the 1999 Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actor in The Green Mile .  Suffered a heart attack on July 13, 2012; remained hospitalized before passing away on September 3, 2012. ~ Rovi
