Spring Planting Preparation and Traditional Dyeing
Early in our country's history, there were no supermarkets or shopping malls. Frontier farmers had to grow their own food, and often had to make their own clothing, from growing textile crops and weaving the natural fibers into cloth, to dyeing and sewing that cloth into clothes. On Saturday, March 31, you can see the living history farm at Kings Mountain State Park come alive and watch people dye fabric using techniques of the 1800s.
