Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, operated by Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Dept., is over 1300 acres and features 4 facilities, 2 picnic areas, a fishing pier plus 15 miles of hiking trails. The 4 facilities are Latta Plantation Nature Center (county operated), Latta Equestrian Center (privately operated), the Carolina Raptor Center (a non-profit operation) and Historic Latta Plantation (an historic farm owned by the county and operated by a non-profit organization).
