Hello, Charlotte!
We're bringing in Tim Berglund of GitHub to do some Git training in June of this year! Tim has produced Mastering Advanced Git for O'Reilly, as well as being on the speaker circuit and serving as co-president of the Denver Open Source User Group .
We heard from our market that beginning Git wasn't worth the time or money, but we have two great offerings for you to choose from:
1: Git Advanced Topics include:
Branching strategies
Code reuse
Efficiency (aliases, shell scripts, and… Show more better merge conflict resolution)
Searching
Managing History
Architecture and Administration
2: Github.com Topics include:
Workflows + Pull Requests
API's
Web Tools
Organizations and Teams
Security
For more specific information, you can download the GitHub training brochure .
By placing a pre-order, you indicate that you would pay $200 for a day of training on the topic. Depending on demand, we may offer the Advanced (or the Github.com) course on both days. If demand is even, you may have the chance to attend both. We will have two days with 20 seats apiece during this training session.
No money will be collected at this time, since we are still determining the logistics of what will be offered. Your pre-order does not guarantee you a seat at either event, it is intended only to indicate that you intend to pay and attend, should there be space for you. Please take the decision to pre-order seriously, and only if you are certain you would be able to attend on those days.
All those who pre-order will be contacted first to register when we begin taking money and finalizing course selection and location. After they have a few days to finalize their orders, we'll notify the public.
If you'd like to attend one of each type of session: select Advanced Git on Day 1, and GitHub.com on Day 2
If you'd like to attend one only: select whichever you prefer on the better day for your schedule.
We'll be using this information to determine which class to offer on each day, so please bear with us while we figure out what combination will please the most people.
Thanks, Charlotte, and we look forward to delivering you some learnings!
